Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. It was here that she received recognition. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes song Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Later in the calendar, her songs circulated around Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing in The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. The 9th of November saw her release two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On the 13th of November, two brand new singles called One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February 2019, her music video to this song was released. It has had over three million YouTube views in just one week. As a support act she performed with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
